This was a concept created for a Motor Cycle News show poster harnessing the power of Adobe Illustrator.
The basis is you take a photo and draw layer upon layer of detail until you end up with the final illustration of the original photo. Then you’re free to tweak colour, shadows and highlights to reach the final result.
It took quite a while to do but was sadly never used.
